The pendant is fine silver with 23.5ct gold fused to the surface using the ancient Korean technique, Keum Bo, meaning ‘gold applied’. A permanent molecular bond is achieved using heat and hand applied pressure. The shadow illusion is created by hand-painting a solution that oxidises the surface of the silver to a lustrous black.
